Sony confirms purchase of Japanese factory that produces the eDRAM Wii U

To the uninformed, came a report that aired on Japanese TV channel NHK saying that Sony had bought the factory that produces the eDRAM Wii U for 7 billion yen, and today, Sony officially announced the acquisition of Japanese plant operated by Renesas Electronics. Now, the plant will be known as Yamagata Technology Center under Sony Semiconductor Corp.. Sony Semiconductor Corporation. will still produce some semiconductors (which may include eDRAM chip Wii U) for a certain period of time but will eventually move manufacturing to another facility or ceasing production.
